Today is World Environment Day! A day dedicated to encouraging global environmental awareness and action, it has been drawing attention to marine pollution, human overpopulation, global warming, sustainable consumption, and wildlife crimes since its inception in 1974.

Now a worldwide platform for public outreach, World Environment Day enjoys the participation and advocacy of 143 countries. We’re glad to take part in celebrating this day by sharing a few ways we help preserve our world for future wagoneers and trike pedallers.

  1. LEED Platinum Certification: We were awarded the title in 2014 for earth-friendly features at our headquarters, among them geo-thermal heating.
  1. Landfill-Free Office: We are striving to be a zero-landfill headquarters through environmental efforts that include recycling and composting. Today, 95% of waste at our headquarters is recycled.
  1. Planting Trees: We partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant a tree for each radioflyer.com purchase.
  1. Safe Materials: Our sustainability chemistry program restricts hazardous substances during the manufacturing of our products.
  1. Product Scorecard: We utilize this tool to help ensure we reach our sustainability criteria goals.

Naturally, it doesn’t stop there. Want to learn more about our sustainability efforts? Visit our website to learn about the efforts that are underway. You can also read up on World Environment Day here.
