Little Red Stories
We use to camp at Moyers Grove Campgrounds. Moyers Campground is located in Wapwallopen PA. Moyers Grove are great fundraisers for Make A Wish. We donated a wagon filled with fun items for camping that was raffled off to raise money for Make A Wish.
Before our wagon was stolen,we hope they needed it desperately. We used it for a variety of giving back from transporting foodbank food from our local pantry to the neighborhood home bound families EVERY WEEK for 2 years, to carrying sack lunches to those living under the bridges of Pierce county. It carried my toddlers across the Relay for Life finish line 5 years in a row AND carried the raffle baskets that raised a combined 4,000$ in those same years. It carried Christmas and Easter and Birthday presents to low income kiddos. AND helped create countless memories for my family.
I use my old radio flyer to donate teddy bears to kids at the hospital. I have to therapy dog that they pet then we give them a teddy bear from the wagon.. It is so much fun and amazing the smiles we get when we pull up to the hospital.. your little red wagon has been so helpful,
I would love to win wagons for Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis My daughter went there when she was little. She is a double amputee and they have red wagons to pull the kids around and they are a lifesaver. Now my grandson goes to Riley and we use the red wagons when he is a patient. We have had many friends that go there and the kids love being pulled in the red wagons so I would love to donate wagons to Riley. Thanks for the amazing contes❤️
My dad would scour garage sales and flea markets for used, rusty, beat up Radio Flyer wagons. He would bring them all home and we would get started. You see we ran a preschool with many low income or single parent families. These families were struggling to make ends meet, let alone afford a wagon for their kids. So we started collecting old ones and bringing them back to life. Our "new" wagons were used for injured kids in casts, disabled dogs, and for bringing big smiles to lots of families. My dad and I bonded over the wagons, as did the families who got them!
For the past three years I’ve purchased a Build a Gift Wagon for Babies to donate to a silent auction. I’ve had Radio Flyer include a teddy bear, blanket, bib and rubber duck in the wagon. The wagon and items come wrapped in clear cellophane with a beautiful, large bow. After I receive the wagon I add a children’s book about Chicago that I put in the front. The Radio Flyer Wagon always generates a lot of bids! It shows well and individuals purchase it for their child, grandchild, niece, nephew or friend. The silent auction that I donate to is for the Chicago Engineers Foundation. Every year they give $1,000 scholarships to deserving Chicago high school seniors who plan to study engineering in college. The auction helps to raise additional money for these scholarships. I plan on continuing to purchase the Radio Flyer Wagon, for donations and for my family and friends.
