Ruthie and her Radio Flyer
I'm 64 years old and I still remember the day I first laid eyes on my brand new red Radio Flyer wagon! I had been wanting one forever, mom and dad didn't believe in giving us what we wanted when we wanted it but eventually they would get what we asked for. For me it was that radio flyer. It became my permanent buddy. That wagon was a make shift carriage for my baby dolls. It was the way I took my empty soda bottles to the corner store and turned them in for candy money. Since we lived in the city we would walk wherever we had to be. My favorite experience was going to the grocery store with grandmom. She would pull me in my Radio Flyer wagon to the store but I would always put her grocery bags in my wagon for the trip home. To this day I think of that wagon and miss it and all the good times I had with it.
