A special Red Wagon Ride

"When I was a little girl, we were very poor and always had hand me downs of shoes/clothing/socks, the neighbors were always very kind and even gave my family food. I had the sweetest Kindergarten teacher, Mrs Filmore.

We lived next door to a Mom/Dad and Little girl her name was Patty - she was about 6 years old - I was the youngest of 6 kids. I was 4 at the time.

Patty got just about anything she asked for, and for her 7th birthday she got a beautiful Radio flyer Red Wagon, I was so excited to see her playing with it, and she came over to our yard one day and said can I put you in my wagon and take you for a ride, I said let me ask, so excited with joy I ran in the house - my Mom said yes, oh how I loved that ride, I felt so happy and excited.

Whenever she was outside I would watch her and she had so much fun with her wagon, I said maybe someday we can get one too, we never did, however the memories have always put a smile on my face.

lived on Annipolis St.
