It’s Official, Fall is Full of Fun Activities!

Fall is here and we are excited for everything that comes with it – changing leaves, cozy nights, and lots of family time. What better way to celebrate the season than with some festive adventures? Here are some of our very favorite fall activities that children and parents alike will love.

Apples Apples Everywhere

1. If you’re looking for a fun excursion full of fresh air, you can head to an apple orchard to pick some delicious fall goodies.
2. Once you’ve picked your apples, there are tons of kid-friendly recipes you can make once you’re back home. Apple pie, apple chips, or applesauce are just a few family favorites.  
3. Apples aren’t just for eating! You can also make a fun apple stamp by slicing apples in half and dipping in paint. Hint – if you slice them in half horizontally, you get a fun star shape in the middle!

Crisp Outdoor Adventures

4. Another fun nature activity is a nature hike! You don’t have to go far for this one. When the weather is nice, you can “hike” anywhere for a local adventure. Play “I Spy” to keep your little ones engaged and see what fun fall delights you can find!
5. Speaking of finding things, turn a walk around the neighborhood into a fall treasure hunt. Gather small elements of nature, like acorns, pine cones, rocks or leaves. Empty egg cartons are a perfect container — one spot for each item makes every find extra special.
6. One of our favorite fall crafts is making colorful leaf rubbings. Simply place leaves under a piece of paper and color over them! Kids will love seeing what shapes and textures they uncover with their art.

Halloween

7. Early October is the perfect time to plan your family Halloween costume! You still have time to snag a Radio Flyer wagon for October 31^st. 8. One classic fall adventure is heading to a pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins. Will you choose one that is big or small? Tall or short? Orange or white? Every pumpkin is unique, and your little one will have a blast choosing their very own.
9. Once you get home, you can carve or decorate your pumpkins. Help your little one carve a spooky face or fun design. There are also plenty of kid-friendly, no-carve ways to decorate your pumpkin!

Cozy Nights at Home

10. Take the kids outside and have them help you rake the leaves, with some breaks for jumping in the piles, of course!
11. Get the backyard set up for a camp-out with a tent, sleeping bags, and lawn chairs. You can enjoy the cozy campsite feeling indoors, too. Just add plenty of blankets, fluffy pillows, and your favorite movie for a family camp-in!
12. On a crisp and cool fall night, nothing is better than enjoying a bonfire. Teach your kiddos how to roast the perfect marshmallow for s’mores and tell stories by the fire. Cool nights are perfect for warm memories!
