Over the past few months, many children have either been directly or indirectly exposed to a variety of abrupt changes to their daily rhythm and/or significant life stressors. In this period of rapid changes and life altering events, it is essential for parental figures and adult caregivers to understand the importance of speaking with their children about the recent events in a developmentally appropriate manner.

With stay at home orders still in place across the country, we’re all missing our friends and family members that we haven’t been able to see. It’s hard to be away from our loved ones, and we know grandparents especially are missing their grandkids. Luckily, we can still be together even when we are apart thanks to the wonders of technology.

Fun fact: it doesn’t need to be Halloween to get dressed up! What better time than when we are all #PlayingAtHome to get creative and have some fun with costumes? Parents, this a 2-for-1 activity. First, it’s a great craft project for the whole family. Whether you want to spend minutes or hours creating your costume is entirely up to you! Second, costumes are a perfect spark for imaginative & pretend play. One costume can take you and your family on so many adventures.

As we all continue #PlayingAtHome, this time spent together with family will help create cherished moments and warm memories that will last.
