Customize Your Ride with Build-A-Trike

Radio Flyer has been sparking smiles and inspiring imaginative outdoor play since 1917. But did you know you can create your own adventure when you design a custom Build-A-Trike?

Build-A-Trike allows families to customize their ride to fit their lifestyle. This includes storage accessories, tire options, fabrics and more. Recently, we added new features to our trike to provide your family with updated styles and functionality, which include the extra coverage canopy, the pedal guard/footrest, and a new wrap around tray design.

This custom trike also comes with four stages of play to allow little ones to enjoy the trike as they learn and grow. Curious how your kids can use the trike to develop riding skills for years to come? Check out the benefits of each stage in the custom grow-with-me ride.

Stage 1: Infant Trike

For riders 9 months – 18 months, this is the perfect way for your little one to get out and play! The storage capabilities and easy steering makes this trike stage a great alternative to strollers when heading to the park or walks around the neighborhood. These stage includes the wrap around tray, child cup holder, headrest, seatbelt, seat pads, footrest, and a canopy.

Stage 2: Steering Trike

Allow your little ones the opportunity to take the wheel! For kids 18 months – 2 years, this stage lets little ones get use to handle bars while pretending to ride. They can twist and turn to feel like they are leading the way. But don’t worry parents, you’re still in control! Take off the wrap around tray and cup holder to transform the trike to stage 2.

Stage 3: Learn-to-Ride Trike

It’s time to learn to ride! This custom trike can easily transform into a beginner ride for kids 2 to 3 years old. They learn to pedal and steer, while still giving parents control. This trike stage helps little ones learn to ride before they trike on their own. Remove the footrest, headrest, seatbelts, seat pads, and canopy to transform your trike to stage 3.

Stage 4: Classic Trike

Your custom trike has helped develop your little ones riding skills, now they are ready to hit the sidewalks! The custom Build-A-Trike turns into a Classic Trike when riders are ready to pedal and steer on their own. This provides a fun ride for kids 3 to 5 years. Remove the parent control handle to turn your trike into stage 4.
