Camp Radio Flyer: Water Day

Splish-splash, it’s Water Day at Camp Radio Flyer! On this third day of camp, we’re focusing on fun-in-the-sun water activities. From unique water art to an imaginative toy car wash, the creativity will be flowing as fast as the water from your garden hose.

Campers and Counselors, be sure to wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet. You can even turn it into a full blown “beach” day from home with bathing suits and setting up towels and an umbrella if you’d like. Sprinklers and kiddie pools are welcome too! While you can customize the day to suit your family’s style, we’ve got our favorite Water Day activities to get you started.

Water Art

Materials:

• A bucket or two
• Paint brushes (or sponges!)
• Sidewalk chalk

Directions: We have two fun ways for Campers to get creative with water art!

1. Water Painting – fill up a bucket of water and use paint brushes or sponges to “paint” your driveway (or sidewalk, deck, etc.) with water. It’s an endless canvas as little Campers will soon discover – as they watch the water slowly evaporate, they can paint over and over, mess free!

2. Chalk Art with Water – Use your favorite sidewalk chalk and water to create fun and unique drawings. Soak a few pieces of chalk in water or dip pieces in as you go – the colors are more vibrant this way and especially fun when they drip and run.

Toy Car Wash

Materials:

• Hose
• Bucket
• Sponge
• Liquid soap
• Towel
• Your favorite set of Radio Flyer wheels

Directions: host your own car wash with your trike, wagon, scooter, or ride-on! Use a bucket of soapy water to wash down your Radio Flyer toys and spray clean with the hose. Dry off your little vehicle with the towel, and Campers can take their squeaky clean set of wheels for a spin
